Mesotherapy Frequently Asked Questions

What areas can be treated?
Mesotherapy can be used on most places on the face and body, including saggy chins, double chins, eye lids, thighs, abdomen, hips and buttocks.
Mesotherapy is also effective in increasing efficiency after liposuction to further tone and tuck problem areas.

How does it work?
Using a very fine needle, Mesotherapy involves injecting small amounts of homeopathic medicine immediately beneath the surface of the skin – the mesoderm.
Mesotherapy melts the fat in the skin and breaks up the network of connective tissue fibers that form trapping fat cells and resulting in cellulite.
Mesotherapy treats three factors involved in cellulite formation. Your doctor creates a specific formula to reduce the fat in your cellulite, improve impaired circulation and break down damaged connective tissue - thereby smoothing the skin's surface. The fat dissolves and, as occurs when fat is broken down during typical weight loss, is carried through the bloodstream and excreted by kidneys and bowel.

How many treatments will I need?
Everyone is different, treatment may be carried out immediately after an initial consultation, at which point you will be informed as to how many treatments you will require.
Treatment is administered every 2 to 3 weeks as the treatment requires multiple sessions and a full course may take up to 10 treatments. Once the desired effect is achieved all that is required is general maintenance including diet and exercise.

Are the treatments painful?
You may feel a slight pinching or burning sensation when the injections are administered. However, we can provide a topical anesthetic that makes treatment virtually painless.

What results can I expect?
Results vary depending on your body type and the condition being treated. On average, patients notice visible improvement in two to three sessions. For certain conditions, patients see results after the first session.
The treatment is long-lasting and the results are measurable. When the desired effects are attained, all that is required is annual maintenance over a 4-6 week period. Superb results can be achieved and those being treated look and feel better both during and after treatment. Overall, with a moderate amount of lifestyle change, Mesotherapy can produce dramatic improvements with people losing up to 2cm from the circumference of their thighs after only 6 sessions.

Are there side effects?
Directly after treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and a numb sensation in the treated area. Occasionally bruising may occur around the treatment area. The irritation is short term and in general vanishes in a day or two.
