Skin Peels
A MySpa skin peel treatment helps rejuvenate the skins surface. A range of different formulations is available, depending on your particular skin type. Chemical peels can treat deep wrinkles caused from sun exposure or lines and skin wrinkling around the lip and chin areas. The peel helps to correct surface discolouration and blemishes, stimulate cell renewal, improve circulation and rebuild collagen
Our specialist non surgical doctors will be able to recommend which skin peel is most suitable for you at your free no obligation consultation.
Your questions answered
- What does the treatment involve?
-
A chemical peel takes from 20 minutes to 1 hour to perform. A solution
is applied to the area being treated. There is a slight burning
sensation, but this is minimal as the solution also acts as an
anesthetic. The solution leads to the removal of thin surface layers of
aged and damaged skin. Your skin will begin to peel in 2 - 3 days and
should be healed in an average of 7 - 10 days. The layers of dead skin
cells exfoliate and are replaced by healthier ones allowing the skins
own clarity and tightness to resurface.
- Will I experience side effects?
-
There should be no side effects from the treatment. Peeling the skin in a controlled manner will not cause any damage to the skin. There are no internal toxic effects, as the chemicals used are not absorbed through the skin.
Make up is not recommended for a 7 to 10 day period or until the skin has completely peeled.
- Will it work for me?
-
Skin peels can correct fine lines, skin laxity, acne scarring, sun damage, pigmentation problems and large pores. When the skin has finished peeling you will immediately see improvement. The appearance of the skin will continue to improve over the next 4 to 6 weeks. Your MySpa non surgical doctor will always explain in great detail exactly what you can expect from the treatment.
